Blessed Rain...

In the last 24 hours we have been blessed with wonderful rainfall. Because Spring is my favorite time of year (see previous post A-Z), I love to hear the sound of rain...I don't like severe weather, but I love to sit and listen to the rain. Last night, as it thundered loudly all around and the lightening brightly lit up the sky, I took my little girl out on the back porch and sat and listened to the rain. We sat on the patio and rocked in our patio chair and just absorbed nature. What a blessed time...one that I will cherish always. As we stood on the back porch, I explained to both my children what a gift from God the rain is. I said those words over and over and the truth of it resonated all around me, what a true gift from God the rainfall is. And what a true gift to be able to observe God's glory all around me and the Earth's thirst being once again quenched by grace...it's no wonder that it also quenches the drought of my soul.

IRISH PRAYER

May the blessing of the rain be on you—
the soft sweet rain.
May it fall upon your spirit
so that all the little flowers may spring up,
and shed their sweetness on the air.
May the blessing of the great rains be on you,
may they beat upon your spirit
and wash it fair and clean,
and leave there many a shining pool
where the blue of heaven shines,
and sometimes a star.

Have you received the emails from me by chance? I sent two of them a week ago. I got your second one but I think I missed the first one so thought maybe there was a problem sending stuff. That second email had my correct address. If you didn't get mine, I'll send them again or I can try a different address than the work one.
